Pontcanna Pop Up!

A couple of months ago I was invited to take part in a pop up exhibition by Carl Bevan, a Cardiff artist whose work I admire.

By some weird coincidence Carl had been working and exhibiting with an old friend and work colleague of mine, the sculptor, Dominic Gubb. That was the decider, I was in.

The venue wasn't settled yet, the Morgan arcade had been a venue in previous years and the Norwegian church was floated as a possibility. It has ended up in a lock up in the Kings Road Yard, Pontcanna, Cardiff. A nice big space but it did need a bit of sorting.

A big thanks to everyone involved in getting the space ready, Dom's usual technical brilliance and lots of hard work and we made it with minutes to spare. I don't think I've ever spent a tenth as much time hanging my 7 prints. Noah Gubb and Ashleigh are also exhibiting paintings and prints, so there are lots of things to look at even if you are not interested in buying.

It opened on Friday night (4th November)6pm. Carl sold a lot of work that night, a well deserved success! Some celebrations followed. It now runs until the 18th of December. well worth popping in if you are nearby. There's a brewery and a bakers next door!
